Chugoku Jozo Co., Ltd.
A Hiroshima based company producing Sakurao single malt and Togouchi blended whisky. The Sakurao distillery opened in 2018, making it one of the newer purpose built whisky distilleries in Japan. Togouchi is a separate product line that uses imported Scotch and Canadian whisky aged in a former railway tunnel, which the community finds interesting but notes it does not qualify as Japanese whisky under JSLMA rules. The Sakurao single malt, once it matures, has genuine potential as a fully Japanese product.
