About

The fifth release in the Lucky Cat series from Mars Whisky, featuring an oloroso sherry cask finish that adds richness and dried fruit character. Limited to 3,000 bottles worldwide. The Lucky Cat series celebrates different aspects of the maneki neko (beckoning cat) tradition, with "Hana" meaning flower in Japanese.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Brown sugar, maple syrup, dried fruits, and a warm oloroso sherry sweetness.

Palate

Soft and sweet with toffee, dark chocolate, and raisin notes. The sherry influence brings depth without overwhelming the delicate malt base.

Finish

Medium length with lingering sweetness, gentle spice, and a touch of oak.

What People Are Saying

Fifth release in the Lucky Cat series. Oloroso cask finish with brown sugar and maple syrup on the nose, soft sweetness through palate to finish. Limited to 3,000 bottles at 4,950 yen after tax.

Lucky Cat bottles are popular among collectors for the distinctive cat-themed packaging. The Hana edition is considered one of the better releases in the series due to the oloroso influence. Now discontinued and trading above retail on secondary markets.

How to Enjoy

Lovely neat as an after dinner sipper. The sherry sweetness pairs well with chocolate desserts. Also works with a single ice cube.
