About

A deeply complex and richly sherried expression from Yamazaki. Aged 18 years in a combination of sherry, Mizunara, and American oak casks.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Deep aromas of dark chocolate, raisins, sherry and blackcurrant with hints of incense and Mizunara oak.

Palate

Rich and complex with dried fruits, dark chocolate, cinnamon and a deep oakiness. Very full bodied.

Finish

Exceptionally long with lingering spices, dark fruit, and sandalwood.

What People Are Saying

The Yamazaki 18 is regarded as the sweet spot of the Yamazaki range by many in the community. Less hype driven than the limited editions and more accessible than the 25, while offering significantly more depth and complexity than the 12. At $400 to $600 retail, it remains expensive but less debated on value than the 12 at inflated prices. Reddit reviewers praise its rich sherry influence, mizunara oak character, and long, complex finish. Often described as what Yamazaki 12 "wants to be when it grows up."
